TGIF

I'm really loving metallics for the fall, so here are a few of my favorite ways to add some glitzy gold to your wardrobe without being overwhelming.

1. Headbands - I'm a big fan of headbands and I really think they can add that extra sparkle to your outfit in a simple way. (Pictured headband from American Apparel)
2. Scarves - A really easy way to dress up your normal jeans and T-shirt combo and it would also look great at work. I love versatility. (Pictured scarf from New York and Company)
3. Shoes - I love TOMS and when I saw these on their website, I thought they would be the perfect fall shoes. What a great way to kick up your look a notch.
4. Bags - You can always use another bag, right? Well, why not make this one metallic and put some shine into those gray fall days. (Pictured bag from Gap)

Fall in love . . .

I love fall. I couldn't be more excited for the boots, the sweaters and the scarves - especially after I found these scarves.

I fell in love with cowl scarves after I spotted one on designlovefest's website so I was super excited to find them on Etsy when I was browsing through local shops (bonus points because it's from Akron!). EStarKnits has a ton of cute scarves if the cowl isn't your thing, and every scarf comes with a whole bunch of color options too! I'm definitely looking forward to adding one of these to my cooler weather wardrobe.

Work it out

Leaving college meant a lot of new things for me - one being an update to my wardrobe. My mom and I set out this weekend to pick up some basic items to add to my new, professional wardrobe and one major item on that list was a blazer. I picked up this black blazer from Kohl's . . .

and I'm in love with it. It's an open-front boyfriend blazer with ruched sleeves from LC Lauren Conrad. The sleeve detail is that perfect, subtle addition that makes the blazer stand out, and one of the things I loved most. It's also the perfect transition piece for fall because the lightweight material makes it perfect for layering. The boyfriend cut makes it a little more casual too so it's perfect to go to work in or wear with jeans on the weekend!

Check it out if you're looking for more professional pieces to add to your closet too.
